Candy Lightner -Women's History Month

Candy Lightner'
s 12 year old daughter was killed by a drunk driver, and as a result, she founded Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD). Candy is a strong and inspirational being for being able to turn something tragic into something incredible. MADD was a great organization to educate, inform, and change society!

Today, there are MADD chapters in all 50 states, as well as international affiliates. The goals are to educate, prevent, deter, and punish.

Candy is active in lectures, speeches, writings, and appearances. She speaks out at events, and contributes to women and children.

She's also written a few books, articles, and has a movie out about MADD!

Go, Candy!! =)

Le Ly Hayslip - Women's History Month

Le Ly Hayslip is Vietnamese and a survivor of the Vietnam War. Le dedicates her life to help shatterred lives of those from the war. She founded the "East Meets West Foundation", a humanitarian relief organization, which helps rebuild the lives of those who suffered from the war.

Le tries to bring a peace of mind to the warriors who fought the war at the expense of their families, jobs, and homes. She tries to encourage the former fighters to return to Vietnam to rebuild schools and medical facilities for childen, women, and the disabled --she believes that positive actions heal old wounds.

Le deserves a great mention for trying to give children a chance in Vietnam and for trying to give our brave soldiers a chance to heal!
