Take a load and your kicks off*. Today, TOMS; the purveyors of cute shoes for a cause are reminding us shoes are a luxury for many children in third world countries. The video above has some pretty sobering facts;
Some children have to walk barefoot for miles to get clean water and food.
The blisters and sores caused by going barefoot in unsanitary conditions can lead to deadly infections.
No shoes, no service -- often, shoeless children are not allowed to attend school.

Stoked Mentoring provides at risk youth with the tools of opportunity, knowledge, experience and determination through the use of action sports. In April of '08 the Los Angeles contingent of this kick &ss non-profit got down at The Grind Art and Print Gallery; to help raise money for surfing, skateboarding and snowboarding trips.
This month, join the host committee including Ladies Lotto's Lyndsay Siegel at the New York session. Stoked Sessions is a lot like the late, great ODB; they're for the kids y'all!

Founder Natalie Blacker's future plans for Ladies Lotto include expanding the overall brand and its network into new major markets, as well as the development of a grant foundation to further its members, an annual conference of member-driven lectures and forums, and collective productions in both music and print media.
