The Baby Shower

Hello Ladies, Two weeks ago I had my baby shower and... IT WAS GREAT! I could not believe how many people showed up as well as how many gifts I received. I was able to get plenty of big ticket items. This kid came off very well... crib, stroller, 3 bouncers, bassinet and one of my favorites, the Glider my co-workers purchased for me. That was a big surprise. I really don't expect to buy much more. Amazing.

The theme for the baby shower was "A Star Is Born!" -A Night at the Movies. Again, Chanelle thanks so much for all of your help and patience. The whole design of the space was as if we were at the movies. Food: hotdogs, popcorn, buffalo wings, nachos and cheese, etc. My boyfriend and I sat on director's chairs in front of a movie screen. We also had clapboards and awards as decorations. It turned out so well. I was overjoyed. This event meant a lot to me. Janna, thanks for the cigars, those went over well with the men there.

For those who have babies on the way or will in the future: this is the time to have all of your family and friends in one place and to really see the beauty of pregnancy. You'll go through so much before and even after this day but its the one day when you can focus on yourself and really enjoy all the attention you'll receive. Don't worry about being over the top... its expected. And don't feel you have to apologize for your request... its expected. Oh, and if you can delegate and don't answer your phone that day.

Its Been A Long Time!

I missed you ladies,

First let me apologize for the lack of postings I've done. Being pregnant has really taken a toll on my social skills. I have been on a serious emotional roller coaster, especially with my bf. He's doing the best he can but damn it he annoys me most of the time. Yet all I want to do is be next to him from the minute I go home to the minute I go to sleep and again when I wake up. I am generally not an emotional person nor do I usually want to always be with my bf but damn it this kid must really like his dad because that's all he wants.

The baby has been growing steadily and since I am 31 weeks now (WOW!) I am so close. I'm more in control of my emotions, okay wait that is a lie. I started taking my Lamaze class at Roosevelt Hospital. My teacher, Harriet Barry, is the best. She is honest and open and realistic. And she actually keeps my bf's attention (which is no small feat).

The baby shower is coming together as well. The theme is "Going to the Movies." Special shout out to LL member, Chanelle Goody, my personal event planner. She's awesome. Plus I made it really tough for her since I refuse to have an abundance of baby cliches.

Well again, I miss you ladies and I'm back!
