No tricks here, only treats! Believe that this workshop is a treat, if you are looking to strengthen your performance muscles. Performance artist and badass burlesque performer, Victoria Libertore, is teaching her "Artist In Action" performance workshop using archetypal energy work which includes tuning into intuition, using your body and movement to express ideas and emotions, utilizing space on stage and much more.

Ms. Libertore, also known as "Howlin' Vic," is an expert in creating on stage marvels, most recently producing and starring in her one-woman show, "Girl Meat," about Countess Elizabeth Bathory, the most prolific female serial killer in history. I took her goddess burlesque workshop earlier this year and I continually use her techniques as I develop as an artist. She will help you find things within yourself that you didn't know existed and it's a magical space to connect with other budding artists.

Develop your own performance piece using Victoria Libertore's unique method of archetypal energy work.
In this five-week workshop, you will learn a foundation for creating an original performance using tools of physical theatre, archetypal energy, intuition, character exploration and imagery. Each participant creates original material and builds on it from week to week. There will be group exercises as well as time for each person to present work. All types of performers are welcome: solo, collaborations, text-based and movement-based. The workshop will be a safe and warm environment for you to express your creativity and walk away with performance-ready material. All levels of experience are welcome. Whether you are a novice that is new to making your own creative work or a pro that wants to refine your skills, you will benefit from these tools and from watching each others' journeys as artists in action. Maximum of eight participants.

Spitting 'Till They Shame You

A good friend once said if he ever became a woman he'd be Jean Grae. Her no apologies style has given our generation some of the most authentic hip hop to date. Always at the forefront of women's issues, Jean's songs are narratives every lady can relate to or at least respect.

In Jean's latest video for "My Story" aka "Spitting 'Till They Shame You" she addresses the issues facing unwanted teenage pregnancy, choice and post-abortion trauma. A reality that many face yet what are real abortion statistics*?

• The number of abortions in the US has steadily decreased over the past two decades.
• Fifty percent of U.S. women obtaining abortions are younger than 25: Women aged 20–24 obtain 33% of all abortions, and teenagers obtain 17%.
• Thirty-seven percent of abortions occur to black women, 34% to non-Hispanic white women, 22% to Hispanic women and 8% to women of other races.
• About 60% of abortions are obtained by women who have one or more children
