The sometimes naughty but mostly nice ladies (and gents) of counter culture magazine Sadie are getting their launch cherry popped! Join Sadie and curatorial collective, Metro Color Collision as they showcase art from contributors including Ladies Lotto members Lizz Wasserman and Denise DeSpirito.

Rebel yells go out to lovely Ladies Lotto members; Jesse Sposato, Rene Levy-Abdo and Julie Fishkin for lighting the fuse that's going to make this event the bomb!

Could Sadie be the new Sassy!?

There's a new girl in town.... Introducing Sadie Magazine, an anti-teen magazine. Could Sadie be the new Sassy? We hope so, for the sake of little girls everywhere.

About Sadie:
Sadie Magazine has all the cool kinds of people and things we wish we had known about earlier ourselves. Sadie is a magazine for young women who might otherwise read glossy teen magazines that focus on hair, makeup, and prom dresses. Rather than training women to consume, Sadie aims to empower girls with stories of risk-taking females. Our goal at Sadie is to offer resources in order to make young women (and all interested young men) self-sufficient, independent and knowledgeable. We aim to help ladies learn how to make important decisions, and inform them on how and where to find inspiration. We would like to question industries that target young women, and offer practical advice on such tasks as, what to make for a good meal, and how to fix things around the house. We tackle fun and substantive issues in a market that regards women as recipients of ad campaigns.

As many of you may know, for the past few months, I have been working on a counter-culture teen magazine with Susannah Wexler and Josie Schoel (other Brooklyn-based writers). The magazine is called, Sadie, and the idea is to help grrrls learn how to make important decisions, and inform them on how and where to find inspiration.
