Taking It to the Root of the Matter!

Following in the ancients footsteps, eating seasonally keeps our bodies in sync with nature’s rhythms. Fresh greens poked out in the spring, fruit ripened in summer, root veggies got dug up in fall, and animal protein provided warmth in winter.

Modern conveniences have put us out of sync with the usual rhythms of nature, and in turn, leaves us susceptible to illness, low energy and bad moods. Giving your body the food that is naturally available during different seasons can actually have a big impact on your health.

Idea: Incorporate at least one seasonal item into your diet each week, you can ask what's seasonal at your local market, or go to farmer's market.
