It's Bike to Work Week

While public transport is definitely better than taking a car, the average NY subway/bus commute produces 1,750 pounds of CO2 a year. Try biking to work instead. This week is Ride Your Bike to Work Week, and if that's too much for you, try riding your bike to work this Friday, May 15th, the official Bike to Work Day.

Join the masses and rent if you don't own a bike, grab a bike buddy (safer, more fun), and find your route. Transportation Alternatives will be handing out free Clif Bars, city bike maps, and coffee (from nearby shops) at the Queensboro, Williamsburg, Manhattan, and Brooklyn bridges, as well as Madison Square Park and City Hall Park from 7 to 10:30 am on Friday.
