For those of you who came to LLNY's meeting at Socialista, it was revolutionary! One of the surprise guests was cultural icon Judy Nylon. Judy grew up amongst Boston Irish in the fifties, became an ex-pat in London in 1971 and was one of only four Americans included in the first days of British punk. Hence her connection to Ari Up. In terms of cultural significance, she has been ranked with Patti Smith, The Raincoats, Chrissie Hynde, of The Pretenders, The Slits, Lydia Lunch, Siouxsie of Siouxsie and the Banshees and even Nico. Her motto remains "Live Now, Wise Up and Die Well".
