This weekend is the premier of a new music festival: East Village Radio Festival.
As in the East Village Radio spirit there will be lots of great music to discover, lots of fun and lots of food. The event will take place from 1 - 9 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, and features a lineup that includes Flying Lotus, Boris, Mark Ronson, Vivian Girls, Devin the Dude, Hypnotic Brass ensemble and more. The festival has two stages and KRS-One playing host to the day activities.
Additionally, a visual art exhibition will feature films by Harry Smith and Jim Davis, avant-garde works about New York City, and classic pieces from organization Anthology Film Archives.
Free shuttle bus service will be provided from the station at 1st avenue to the Seaport where the festivities take place.
So what about the food?
Well East Village Radio offers some gourmet food to the music lovers at South Seaport. And this is not hot dogs or corn on the cob, common festival food. For this festival an exclusive gourmet menu has been planned, courtesy of Frank Catering, with bruschetta, Ceasar salad, salmon, and Italian sausage, amongst other delicious dishes.
Hope to see you there!
