Coast Clean-up

Cigarette butts, Big Gulp cups, and plastic bags have you second-guessing the state of our beaches? Clear the view by joining thousands of fellow picker-uppers for the Ocean Conservancy's International Coastal Cleanup this Saturday. No huge commitment - you can work all day or just an hour, and recycling bags and drinking water come with (don't forget gloves, reusable water bottle, and sunscreen). There are more than 50 sites in all boroughs, so you won't have to travel far. Keep trash from impacting local wildlife (last year's cleanup removed 142,243 pounds of debris from our NY shores) and get back to enjoying the beach to boot.
