Having met great success abroad, Saul Zanolari comes to Heist Gallery to debut his exquisitely executed and uncanny prints in his first New York solo exhibition. This show also marks the grand opening of Heist Gallery, a brand new space on the Lower East Side committed to the representation of up and coming as well as established artists.
The opening reception, supported by 44 North Vodka, is Tuesday, June 10th, 2008, from 6 - 9 PM. "Saul Soul" is comprised of eight digital paintings printed on glossy paper, each portraying a grotesquely fantastical yet eerily familiar portrait. As Zanolari reconstructs the figure, he calls into question our perception of the body and its relationship with a perceived human identity.
"Saul Soul" will be on view at Heist Gallery through June 30th, 2008. The gallery is located at 27 Essex Street (between Hester and Grand) New York, NY 10002. Hours: Wednesday through Sunday, from 12-6PM. For further information please call (212) 253-0451
