The trauma of living with a philandering father and purposely oblivious mother set the tone for Louise Bourgeois's work. Thirty foot spiders, writhing bodies and shapes arranged as if they were parts of complex animal cells are some of the stand outs in her 70+ year, multi-medium career. This week Ms. Bourgeois is being celebrated in film and with a retrospective at the Guggenheim Museum.
