Writer Sara Marcus delves into the Riot Grrrl scene of the early 1990s with her new book, Girls to the Front. Marcus explores the world of new young feminists who demanded their rights loudly! The revolution will not be televised but you can catch the roving book tour as it makes its way across the United States -- hitting many Ladies Lotto chapter cities. So, head out to the nearest event, snag a book and listen to some tunes and readings that'd make Sandra Dee blush.

funny about that image - that is so not riot grrrl, that is EXENE CERVENKA FROM X in the early 80's. good post though.
Why be anonymous? I'd like to know who I'm being corrected by. The image is supposed to exude the feel of the movement. You try searching for Riot Grrrl images for more than an hour and try to find one that isn't the standard Kathleen Hanna/Bikini Kill photo. While awesome, they are not the be all and end all of the movement/sound.
Thanks!
