I do not believe in the conditions that produce a situation that demanded a song like that - Nina SimoneNina Simone is one of the most fearless artists of the last century. Outspoken and "uppity" for a southern BLACK FEMALE, she showed the world it was only on her own terms she would live. Simone was under surveillance by the FBI, she was considered a threat to US security because of her lyrics and voice.
