We are seeing this resurgence of women sporting male attire, military wear, suspenders and even ties, so we decided to chat with David Hart, the creator of some of the coolest hand tailored ties we have come across in a long time. The David Hart & Co collection is created in New York City using silk, wool, linen from all corners of the world. These could make the perfect gift for your dude—or turn heads on your next night out, by rocking one of his unique prints in both four-in-hand and bow tie.
We like the Japanese Selvage denim, Striptease Pin-ups, Bullet Bra Floral and Smiling Frogs. Check out the amazing plaids wool, perfect for the fall season. Personally, I like my ties just like I like my cocktails—on the rocks—so the Bourbon tie is my drink of choice! Find your favorite pattern here: http://www.davidhartnyc.com/
Meet David yourself at his FNO event at Bloomingdale's on 59th Street from 5-9PM. He’ll be set up in the Men's Store lower level in the Tailored Department. Ties not your personal style? You can still appreciate all the good looking fellas wearing them!
Check out what David has to say about his passion.
So our first question, is the obvious one-why ties?
I've always loved ties. When I was younger, my grandfather gave me a box of his old ties from the 1940's and 1950's. I thought the patterns were amazing. Ties are the one item in a man's wardrobe that allow him to show a bit of his personality, whether it's a bow tie, skinny tie, plaid, stripe, etc...A tie is essentially an arrow, look at what it points to.
What trends do you see coming this fall for men's accessories?
We are always looking for the perfect gift for the men in our lives, what would be something that you suggest as a trendy male on the scene?
How would you suggest women rock your ties? (or would you even?)
I love women in ties! Especially bow ties. They look great with oxford shirts and denim. My friend Sheri wears them all the time and always looks amazing!
