After success with their acclaimed UK salon, Australian cousins Simon and James Charrison hopped across the pond and landed on the corner of Ludlow and Stanton in New York City's LES. While Pimps & Pinups is a sleek black box filled with luxe barber chairs and dressing room mirrors a 1950s pinup would die for -- it's not nearly as pretentious as it may seem -- and the staff is just as accommodating as the interior design is rich. The salon is well stocked with Kevin Murphy products and the fees for services won't break the bank.
Even if you can't stop in for a haircut you should pass by to check out the crazy cute staff. Shannon, John, Marissa, Michelle, Walton and Angelina are worth the trip. And, unlike other less awesome salons, all the stylists at Pimps & Pinups have the same rate. Hurrah; equal opportunity for pimps and pinups!
