Lori Leven loves New York City. And she loves the art of tattooing.
Lori has carried this passion for a long time. She was one of the strongest advocates when tattooing was illegal in the 5 boroughs of New York City from 1961 through 1997. She felt a strong urge for change; she needed an outlet where tattoo lovers could express their passion and art.
In 1993 Lori opened the underground East Side Ink in Gathering young talent in the Lower East Side tattoo art world to fill a void in a budding movement. 1996 Leven collected the best artists from around the world to work together in an environment that stimulated collaboration and creativity.
Today New York Adorned is internationally known as one on the most appreciated and influential tattoo shops in the world. It is proud to set the trends and standards for the industry across the globe.
To the selection of talented tattoo artists Lori Leven added a jewelry section that emphasizes on emerging designers In 2007, Leven opened a second location in Williamsburg Brooklyn.
Where it became very popular among the artists and tattoo lovers of the area.
