Passion for number and letters


Ladies Lotto are proud to announce that LL member Amber Quereshi got a write up in the pretty influential publishing magazine Publishers Weekly. The article feature the successful career of Amber Quereshi and her exchange of algebra algorithms to words, languages and media.

After graduation with a degree in mathematics, focusing on algebra at University of Alabama Amber Qureshi continued her studies with a degree in Econometrics, but in Japan. She spent five years there, eventually landing a job as a translator.
Amber’s language skills are expansive as she masters the languages of English, French and Japanese.
After completing a few years as a translator Amber was more certain of her change of professional focus.
She got hired at the Radcliffe Publishing Institute at Harvard, where she had the opportunity to work with Knopf editor Gary Fisketjon. He signed her up to be his assistant, which automatically launched her editorial career. Amber Qureshi moved to Picador 2003 where she obtained paperback originals and reprints. In 2006, she joined Free Press as senior editor, the independent news media company.
