Countdown to 11/4 - #6 Drawing the Line

Zina Saunders has been covering the 2008 presidential election using a keen eye for detail and a steady hand. Her two-dimensional interpretations of the election news is brought to life by the vivid palate she uses; coupled with a wry sense of humor. Her illustrations channel Rockwell-esque Americana (he created Rosie the Riveter) for the harsh times we live in.

"And then, he taxed all your money and gave it away to the poor!"

In Zina's 15 year career as a writer and illustrator she's contributed to periodicals including The Utne Reader, The Wall Street Journal and The Progressive; to name a few. Besides bringing John McCain, Barack Obama and Sarah Palin to life on paper, she has drawn pictures of the famous and not so famous. Also, she has illustrated books for Simon & Schuster, Random House and Scholastic.
