Support Etsy!

For those not already in the know, Etsy is an online community that provides a forum for artists and craftsman (craftswoman!) to showcase and sell their work. The Etsy mission is to "enable people to make a living making things, and to reconnect makers with buyers." Items sold on Etsy tend to be totally affordable and make excellent gifts. (Now for the cheese) Am I totally idealistic in my hope that the Etsy ideology is more a movement than a trend and that consumers prefer to purchase from a local artist (or farmer) rather than a mega-monster chain store? I mean seriously, this one is a no-brainer. A few of my favorite Etsy things:
