Bette Graham - Women's History Month

Other than having a famous son named Michael who’s in a famous band called the Monkees, Bette Graham is notorious for solving our typo errors!

Bette Graham (March 23, 1924 – May 12, 1980) is the inventor of Liquid Paper! The invention came into development during the time when Bette was working as a secretary of a bank. She would type up a lot of documents and she would find it such a hassle to erase her mistakes since she used an early electric typewriter.

As a result, she created her own bottle of white paint, which she brought to work to correct her errors. People often criticized her, but her associates started to pick up after her.

Eventually, she opened up her own company and had 200 workers producing 25 million bottles a year.

Thanks Bette for providing a solution to our mistakes! Imagine what we’d do without white out!
